Feeding

Water should always be available, the best way to provide this is in a water bottle. A bottle enables you to monitor how much your Guinea pig is drinking.

Guinea pig muesli or pellets should be fed on a daily basis . Make sure its guinea pig food not rabbit as pig food has extra vitamin in it. Hay should always be available. Fruit and veg should also be fed daily.

Good fruit and veg:

Carrots, parsnips, suede, kiwi, melon, tomatoes, banana, strawberries, grapes, curly kale, fresh greens, corn on the cob, baby corn, celery, cucumber, pears, cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower leaves, purple sprouting broccoli, beetroot, carrot tops, melon skins.

Guinea Pigs love dandelion!

Not so good fruit and veg:

Apples are not suitable for all pigs as this can cause some pigs to get sores on their lips; feed in moderation.

Spinach should be fed in moderation, but is loved.

Never feed iceberg lettuce, rhubarb, potatoes and skins.
